Early Life
Linden was born on 23 May 1960 in Atlantic Beach, Florida, United States of America — he is an American citizen and a Gemini by birth sign. Eleanor Johnson Ashby is his mother. Eleanor previously served as Executive Director of “Leadership Jacksonville,” a nonprofit organization specializing in leadership coaching and training; Eleanor retired on 1 July 1998. Clarence Linden Garnett Ashby Jr. is his father and he was a pharmaceutical maker.
Linden was enthusiastic about sports as well as martial arts from early age, but he recognized early on that he would never earn a job surfing, skating, or playing soccer. However, those folks are on an entirely different level,’ he stated in a 2013 interview with Digital Journal. Linden, however, spent his boyhood on the beaches of Northern Florida, surfing since he was nine years old and was even invited to compete in the East Coast Championships while still in high school.
He studied there for only a year and a half, dropping out of college to pursue a career in acting, despite excelling in his psychology and business studies. Linden graduated from The Neighborhood Playhouse in New York and spent two years honing her acting skills under the guidance of Sanford Meisner.
Profession
Linden landed his first part in the soap series “Loving” shortly after graduating in 1983. He portrayed Curtis Alden (just the second actor to do so) and then discussed how beginning an acting career on a soap opera meant a lot to an actor due to the unique pace and discipline required on such sets: ‘Playing a soap opera is almost like doing a stage play that is being aired. You perform the entire scene. Working on a soap opera is incredibly nerve-wracking and highly beneficial to your development as an actor.
Linden also noted that he believed Liam Hemsworth developed into a fine actor due to his early acting career in Australian soap operas, where he became accustomed to working a lot. Linden began appearing in television programmes and feature films in 1987, including “1st & Ten,” “Werewolf,” and “Poor Little Rich Girl: The Barbara Hutton Story.”
Personal Life
Linden met Susan Walters in 1983 on the set of the television series “Loving.” Linden already had a regular role in the soap opera, and she was invited to appear as a guest performer in a few episodes. However, his performance was so well received by the series’ writers that he was promoted to the regular cast in 1985. The couple substantiates the narrative that as soon as Susan laid eyes on Linden for the first time, she informed her make-up artist that he was the guy she would marry.
Even though it appeared to be a joke, and Susan and Linden did not communicate much until 1985, when Linden joined the cast regularly, the situation developed into something more serious. After three days of spending time together after work, they moved in together, and five months later, on 21 April 1986, they married. Susan welcomed their first baby, Frances Grace, in 1991 and their second daughter, Savannah Elizabeth, in 1992.
