The early life of Jackie Chan 

Jackie Chan was born in Victoria Peak, Hong Kong, and his birth name is Chan Kong-sang. His father’s name is Charles and Lee-Lee Chan, and his mother’s name is Lily Chan; both of them worked as the French Ambassador in Hong Kong; later, he was moved to Canberra, in Australia, to work as a head cook at American Embassy. 

His parents were refugees from the Chinese Civil War in Hong Kong. Jackie Chan has four siblings: Fang Shide, Fang Shisheng, Guilan Chan, and Yulan Chan. Jackie Chan spent his early life in his birthplace Victoria Peak with his parents and siblings.

Jackie Chan attended Nah-Hwa Primary School, located on Hong Kong Island, but he failed in the first year, and then his parents withdrew him from the school. After that, he joined China Opera Research Institute in Hong Kong and was trained in music, dance, and traditional martial arts.
